ShotelAn unusual weapon, the Shotel is a North African sword, with a deep forward curve, and usually sharpened on both edges. It resembles a giant sickle and was used primarily to get around the large shields common in the region. Unlike almost any other sword, it will take some practice to get used to, and in the right hands, is a devastating weapon. Standard length 100cm (Pommel to Tip)

The 'wings' or lugs are useful for catching and manipulating opponent's shields or weapons

so we have designed the hilt with dual side-rings and subtle upward swept quillons to provide excellent protection when engaging other blades and polearms
